Register to 2024 AAIC Neuroscience Next and see what Grinberg's team has lined up for you!

Save the dates on your calendar for this year’s AAIC Neuroscience Next hybrid hubs international conference, which is going to take place from April 22nd to April 25th. As one of the most important events for Alzheimer’s and dementia research and clinical practice globally, AAIC Neuroscience Next is passionate about supporting and promoting young and upcoming talents in the field. This year, the conference is hosted in the lively cities of Porto Alegre (Brazil), San Francisco (US), Bangalore (India), Dublin (Ireland), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Belgrade (Serbia), and Chicago (US), with live broadcast provided for virtual participants.

It is our pleasure to inform you that Grinberg’s lab will be dynamically present virtually and on-site at the San Francisco hub. We look forward to presenting our most recent works, which will support the expansion of knowledge about Alzheimer’s and dementia:

· Truncated tau accumulates before hyperphosphorylated tau and in relatively distinct neuronal subpopulations in the entorhinal cortex and inferior temporal gyrus in Alzheimer’s disease patients. Poster presented by Ian Oh.

· Unraveling the molecular intricacies of amnestic and atypical Alzheimer’s disease: a post-mortem gene expression study of the sleep-wake modulating lateral hypothalamic area. Poster presented by: Abhijit Satpati.

· Selective Vulnerability of Human Master Circadian Clock to Tau Pathology in Amnestic vs. Atypical Alzheimer’s Disease. Poster presented by: Yumi Yang.

· D13 caspase-6-cleaved tau, a novel biomarker to complement Alzheimer's disease diagnosis. Oral presentation by: Liara Rizzi.

· Exploring selective neuronal vulnerability in Alzheimer’s disease -- key pathways are downregulated in vulnerable subpopulations of RORB and CDH9 excitatory neurons of the entorhinal cortex at Braak 0. Poster presented by Alex Soloviev.

· Locus Coeruleus Neuroimaging compared Voxel by Voxel to Histology- a postmortem human validation study. Virtual poster presented by Tia Lamore.

· The VLPO analog in the human hypothalamus shows tau-driven extreme loss of sleep-regulating neurons in PSP and Alzheimer’s disease: unveiling the basis of NREM sleep dysfunction in tauopathies. Poster presented by Shima Rastegar.

· Neuropathological Mapping of Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A in Human Brains: Ground Truth for PET Interpretation in Neurodegenerative Diseases. Poster presented by Mahsa Bavarsad.

· Single-nuclei transcriptomic identifies type-specific neuronal cell vulnerability in Amnestic and Logopenic Variant Primary Progressive Aphasia Alzheimer’s disease. Poster presented by Felipe Pereira.

· Pathological Effects of Progressive Alzheimer’s Disease on the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus in Human Postmortem Tissue. Poster presented by Grace Judge.
